Every leap in how humanity moves information has redrawn the map of wealth and power. The clay tablet built the first tax state. Movable type funded the Reformation and the nation. The telegraph wired the first real-time markets and the cables that ran an empire. Broadcast built nations and sold them soap. The platform priced attention, and the answer engine now writes the reply before the click. This series reads that arc through two lenses most histories leave out: the economy each medium minted and destroyed, and the power it rewired. It runs in 11 chronological eras and 4 cross-cutting themes. Every figure is dated, sourced, and tiered, and where a number is an estimate or disputed, it is marked as one. The last chapter, in which a machine decides who gets named, is the one we work in now.
