The Making of India's Attention Market
Every business has always faced two questions: how to reach the people it wants, and how those people find it. This series traces the surfaces that answered those questions in India across eight decades, from a state that controlled the airwaves and a market that barely existed, through the satellite and telecom openings, the smartphone and the Jio shock, and the social and commerce rails, to the newest surface of all, the AI answer. Each part reads one era through four threads that move together: the marketing surface of the day, the way people searched and discovered, the technology that opened a new surface, and the economic and political forces that pushed attention onto it.
