A med-spa booking funnel is the path from a prospective patient landing on your site to a confirmed appointment, and most of the money is lost inside it, not before it. The line to hold is the one the evidence draws between legitimate social proof and dark patterns: an automated crawl of roughly 11,000 shopping sites by Mathur and colleagues (2019) cataloged more than 1,800 dark-pattern instances, and fake urgency and invented scarcity were among them. A countdown timer that resets, "only two slots left" that is not true, or a review section that cannot be verified will convert a suspicious health buyer at the exact moment you most need their trust. The durable move is to make the true signals prominent and legible, not to fabricate pressure.
The funnel does not end at submit: lead response time
For a med-spa, the booking form is frequently a request, not a purchase. The visitor asks for a time or a consult, and a human confirms it. That handoff is where a well-documented and badly underused finding applies. Accessibility is table stakes, and a legal surface
