A parent may now ask an assistant both "how can my child improve their SAT math" and "who are the best tutors near me," and receive an answer that names a free tool or a national brand rather than the excellent local center three miles away, simply because that center gave the engine nothing citable.
What "better than free" actually looks like to an engine
Being better than free is not only a service-quality question, it is a legibility question. A center that is demonstrably better than free but invisible to the engine loses to the free tool by default.
