For Professional Services & B2B Firms

Be the vendor ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini actually name for your category

For consultants, agencies, IT and managed-service providers, and specialist B2B firms who rank reasonably well on Google but have never checked whether they are actually named when a buyer asks an AI assistant directly.

Every engagement is directed by a technical specialist and reviewed before delivery.

What this is

AI-Answer and GEO Visibility engineers the entity clarity, quotable category content, and third-party corroboration that decide whether an AI assistant names your firm when a buyer asks which vendors solve their problem. Forrester found 94 percent of B2B buyers used AI during their most recent purchase, G2 found 51 percent now start research with an AI chatbot rather than Google, and 85 percent of buyers think more highly of a vendor an AI chatbot names by name. We report your presence as a sampled Share-of-Answer with a confidence band across the category and comparison questions a buying committee investigates, never a promised citation.

The problem

Why professional-services and B2B firms lose here

A buying committee asks an AI assistant which firms are worth considering for a given problem, and gets back a short answer naming three or four vendors with a sentence on each. If you are not one of them, you were not compared on price, expertise, or fit. You were never on the list the committee started from.

This is a different failure than ranking poorly on Google. A page-one ranking and being named inside a generated answer are two loosely overlapping outcomes. Google states plainly that meeting every best practice still does not guarantee a page is crawled, indexed, or served in an AI Overview, and that there is no special markup that forces inclusion. You can rank well for your category and still be absent from the answer sitting above those results.

For B2B and professional-services firms specifically, the gap is compounded by where AI engines actually get their information. Most citations for category questions come from third-party sources, not vendor websites, and most solo and small-team firms have thin footprints on the review platforms and industry conversations those answers cite. A beautifully written service page is often the source the answer trusts least.

The evidence

What the numbers show

  • 94 percent of B2B buyers used AI during their most recent purchase.

established Forrester, 2026 Buyers' Journey Survey, 18,000 global business buyers.

  • 17 AI search queries per B2B buyer per week during vendor research.

established Bain & Company, 2026 B2B buyer research.

  • 51 percent of B2B software buyers now start research with an AI chatbot rather than Google, up from 29 percent eleven months earlier; 85 percent think more highly of a vendor an AI chatbot names.

established G2, March 2026 survey of 1,076 B2B software buyers and decision-makers (PR Newswire).

  • 85 percent of B2B AI-search citations for category queries come from third-party sources, not vendor websites.

established Valasys, 2026 analysis; Rampiq AI Visibility Optimization Program, 30 B2B brands, May 2026.

  • Reddit accounts for roughly a fifth of external AI citations overall, larger in unbranded discovery queries; G2 is reported among ChatGPT's most-cited sources.

How it works

The work, made checkable

  1. 01

    Lock the entity first

Before anything else, your firm becomes a single, unambiguous, machine-recognized entity: consistent name and description across every directory and profile, Organization and Product schema on your site, and sameAs links to verified profiles. An engine will not confidently name a firm it cannot confidently identify.

  2. 02

Structure content to be extracted and quoted

AI systems retrieve short, self-contained passages, not whole pages. We phrase headings as the category and comparison questions your buyers actually ask, answer each immediately in a quotable, source-attributable passage, then elaborate. The peer-reviewed 2024 GEO study found cited statistics and direct quotations among the strongest levers for being drawn into a generated answer.

  3. 03

Earn the third-party corroboration engines actually trust

Because most B2B category citations point to third-party sources, we build legitimate reviews from real clients, accurate presence on the directories your category uses, and genuine earned mentions, never bought, exchanged, or manufactured, in line with FTC rules and platform policy.

  4. 04

Confirm AI crawlers can actually reach your content

We verify your robots.txt and sitemap allow the AI crawlers, since some security and performance tools block them by default, and verify you in Bing Webmaster Tools, because ChatGPT and Copilot draw from the Bing index.

  5. 05

    Measure share of answer

We build a panel of your real category and comparison questions and run it repeatedly across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Google AI Overviews, reporting every reading as an appearance rate with a confidence band, stamped with engine, locale and date. A mention is reported separately from a citation.

Included

What is delivered

  • Entity audit and lock: consistency sweep across your directories, Organization and Product schema with sameAs links to verified profiles.
  • Answer-first content restructuring for your priority category and comparison pages, built to survive retrieval chunking.
  • AI-crawler readiness checks, robots.txt and sitemap review, and Bing Webmaster Tools verification.
  • A share-of-answer panel of your real category and comparison questions, run repeatedly across the five major engines with engine, locale and date stamped on every reading.
  • A prioritized findings register that ranks the corrections most likely to move your AI visibility, separated into proven, promising, and unproven tiers.
  • A plain-English report with the AI Answers and Share-of-Answer pillar score, ranges shown instead of single numbers dressed up as certainty, and next actions.

The outcome

What it moves

  • A firm that resolves to one confident entity, with consistent naming, description and schema across the sources AI engines read.
  • Category and comparison content structured so the answer to a buyer's real question appears in the first sentence or two, the shape both classic search and AI engines reward.
  • A dated read of your share of answer across the engines that matter, sampled by engine, locale, and question type.
  • A wider base of earned third-party corroboration, on the review platforms and industry conversations AI engines actually weight for category questions.
  • Movement tracked over time inside the AI Answers and Share-of-Answer pillar of your Machine-Readiness Score, so a gain is defended, not measured once and forgotten.

Straight answers

Questions

Can you guarantee ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews will name our firm?

No. No provider can guarantee inclusion in a system it does not control. We apply an evidence-based method and track your share of answer over time, including when it is flat.

Is this just SEO with a different name?

No. Classic SEO optimizes for a position in a list of links. AI-answer visibility optimizes for being named inside a synthesized answer, which depends more on entity consistency and third-party corroboration than on ranking position alone. A strong Google ranking does not automatically carry over.

Will structured data or schema get us cited faster?

The evidence is genuinely contested. Some 2026 studies report a meaningful citation lift from schema, while a larger Ahrefs study tracking 1,885 pages found no measurable lift and a significant decline specifically in Google AI Overviews. We build sound schema as good technical practice, never as a promised citation lever.

How exactly do you measure share of answer?

We build and run a panel of realistic category and comparison prompts several times per engine across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, logging whether and how you appear. Every reading is stamped with engine, locale and date, and a mention is counted separately from a citation.

How do I know the work is any good?

The method is published and the measurement is shown, not asserted. Every engagement is directed and reviewed by a technical specialist with years of hands-on work in search and AI visibility, and the method is drawn from peer-reviewed research and official platform documentation, all cited, so you can check the reasoning directly. Most relationships still start with the Surface Intelligence Audit, a low-commitment diagnostic that produces a measured starting position before any larger engagement.
