For Hotels, Inns & Short-Term Rentals

Be the stay AI names when a traveler asks where to go

For independent hotel, inn, B&B and short-term rental owners who rank fine in Google but have no idea whether ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity or Gemini ever name their property when a traveler asks where to stay.

Every engagement is directed by a technical specialist and reviewed before delivery.

What this is

About 40 percent of travelers worldwide have used AI to plan a trip, roughly two thirds of those use it to find a hotel, and about 26.7 percent of travel queries never leave the AI interface. When a traveler asks an engine for a stay like yours, a short list comes back, and the property that is not on it was never considered. AI Answer and GEO Visibility engineers your property's business entity, structured amenity data, and third-party corroboration so engines can name you, using the levers the peer-reviewed research shows they read, and points the booking at your own engine rather than an OTA. Share of answer is measured. No citation is guaranteed.

The problem

Why lodging lose here

AI trip planning has become a real discovery channel, and independents are least equipped for it. About 40 percent of travelers worldwide have used AI to plan a trip, roughly two thirds of AI-travel users use it to find hotels, and Booking.com's survey of more than 37,000 travelers found 89 percent intend to use AI for future travel planning. The demand is rising while most properties give AI engines nothing clean to read.

Being page-one on Google no longer means being in the answer. About 26.7 percent of travel queries are zero-click, resolved inside the AI interface with no external click, and a citation inside a generated answer depends less on ranking and more on a clean entity, structured amenity data, and corroboration the engine can quote. A property can rank well and be invisible in the answer written above the list.

Two vendor scans describe the sting, and both are directional, not fact: one reported the top five hotels in a market capturing about 65 percent of AI mentions, a winner-take-most pattern, and another found most AI-referred guests routed back to an OTA rather than the property's own booking engine. Being named is not the whole win if the booking still leaks to a commission channel, so the work has to fix both the visibility and the destination.

The evidence

What the numbers show

  • About 40 percent of travelers worldwide have used AI to plan a trip, and roughly two thirds of AI-travel users use it to find hotels.

emerging Statista, 2025, with corroborating 2025 to 2026 travel-technology reports.

  • About 26.7 percent of travel queries are zero-click, answered inside the AI interface with no external click.

    emerging Phocuswright, cited 2026.

  • Concrete cited statistics, direct quotations, and authoritative corroboration were among the strongest levers for inclusion in generated answers, lifting source visibility roughly 30 to 40 percent in tested systems.

established Aggarwal et al., GEO: Generative Engine Optimization, KDD 2024, arXiv:2311.09735 (peer-reviewed).

  • About 89 percent of travelers intend to use AI for future travel planning.

emerging Booking.com, survey of more than 37,000 travelers.

  • A vendor scan reported the top five hotels in a market capturing about 65 percent of AI mentions, and separate scans reported most AI-referred guests routed back to an OTA rather than the property's own booking engine.

How it works

The work, made checkable

  1. 01

Make your property one clean entity the engine trusts

Your name, location, category and facts are reconciled into a single consistent business entity across Google, TripAdvisor, Apple Maps and the OTAs, because engines favor a property whose facts agree with themselves over one whose details conflict.

  2. 02

    Turn amenities into machine-readable facts

The hot tub, the pet policy, the parking, the breakfast, the room types, expressed as structured data an engine can parse rather than prose buried in a PDF, so when a traveler asks for a stay with your specific features the engine has something to quote.

  3. 03

    Build the corroboration engines read

Fresh reviews and third-party citations give the engine the external evidence the peer-reviewed GEO research shows it weighs, applied as method rather than a promise that any given engine will cite you.

  4. 04

Point the named booking at your own engine

The entity and content are set up so that when a traveler acts on the AI recommendation, the path leads to your own booking engine, not an OTA page, so a named property does not hand the stay to a commission channel.

Included

What is delivered

  • Business entity audit and cleanup across Google, TripAdvisor, Apple Maps and the OTAs for a single consistent property identity.
  • Structured data and amenity schema build so room types, attributes and policies are machine-readable to AI engines.
  • Content restructuring around the concrete, quotable facts the peer-reviewed GEO research shows engines read.
  • A frozen panel of real traveler questions for your market, and a measured share-of-answer baseline across the major engines.
  • A ranked fix list ordering the corrections most likely to move your AI-answer presence and direct-booking destination first.

The outcome

What it moves

  • A clean, consistent business entity across the sources AI engines read, so your property is legible to a machine forming a recommendation.
  • Structured, machine-readable amenity and room data so an engine can quote your specific features when a traveler asks for a stay like yours.
  • A booking path pointed at your own engine, so being named turns into a direct stay rather than an OTA referral.
  • A measured share-of-answer read across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Gemini for a panel of real traveler questions, dated, including when it is low.

Straight answers

Questions

Can you guarantee my property will be named by ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews?

No. AI-answer selection is undocumented and changes constantly. What is established is the method: a clean entity, structured amenity data, third-party corroboration, and content built the way the peer-reviewed research shows engines prefer. We apply that method and measure your share of answer, including when it is low.

Is the top five capture most AI mentions figure real?

It comes from a single vendor scan of one market dataset, so we treat it as directional, not fact. It points to a plausible winner-take-most shape, but it is not a measurement to build a promise on. We baseline your actual AI presence against a panel of real traveler questions for your market before any claim rests on it.

How do you measure something no engine publishes?

Directly. We build a frozen panel of the questions your real travelers would ask, like the best boutique inn in your town with a hot tub that takes pets, run them across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Gemini, and record how often your property is named. That share-of-answer read is the baseline, repeated over time to show movement.

What if AI names us but the booking still goes to an OTA?

That is exactly the leak this build is meant to close. Vendor scans suggest most AI-referred guests get routed back to an OTA when a property lacks a clean direct destination. Part of the work is making sure your entity and content point the named traveler at your own booking engine, so being recommended turns into a direct stay rather than a commission.

Find out if the machine names your property

When a traveler asks an engine where to stay, a short list comes back, and no engine publishes whether you are on it. AI Answer and GEO Visibility engineers the entity and content that make being named possible, and a Machine-Readiness Score measures your share of answer first so you see the gap.
